Where is Edinburgh?
> Where is Edinburgh?
Edinburgh, the capital city of Scotland, is located in Southern Scotland on the east coast. The distance in miles from some of Britain’s major cities are as follows:
Edinburgh is an international gateway; therefore travelling to the city poses few problems. It is also easily accessible by rail and road. Once there, the compact city centre means it is best explored by foot. Parking can be a nightmare but if the hills prove to be too much it is well served by taxis and busses. Alternatively, take to two wheels and travel by bike!
Excellent rail links throughout the UK make the train a great way to get here. And numerous direct scheduled flights from major airports, both in the UK and overseas, mean travelling to Edinburgh is more than just a flight of fancy.
The city of Edinburgh has two train stations: Waverley and Haymarket, both of which are served by regular bus services between them and the main terminal at Edinburgh Airport.
