The Mill Edinburgh
> The Mill Edinburgh
The Mill is a genuinely different music experience that's all about giving emerging bands a stage. In fact, over the last year, we've had a number of acts playing at The Mill Edinburgh (Cabaret Voltaire) and The Mill Glasgow (Oran Mor). But they all have one thing in common. They're all just emerging onto the Scottish music scene, they all play live and they've all been hand picked by an influential A&R team for their extraordinary raw talent.
What The Mill isn't about is the norm. That means no labels, no record deals, and no huge ticket prices at the door. In fact, The Mill tickets are totally free. You just need to register for them by heading along to the gig guide and clicking 'get tickets'. But you must have one to get in.
The Mill Edinburgh has taken up residence in the ancient subterranean caverns that underpin the bustling streets of Edinburgh's Cowgate district, right in the heart of Scotland's capital city. Cabaret Voltaire is a must-see twin-roomed venue. It's a key player in the city's thriving live music scene. Amazing acoustics, a world-class sound system, and atmospheric lighting mean that live music doesn't get much better than this.
The Mill Edinburgh opens its doors every alternate Thursday - see gig listings for details. Gigs kick off shortly after 7.30pm and wrap up by 10.30pm, with doors closing at 11.00pm
