Discover the extraordinary story of our human ambition to take to the skies. East Fortune played an important role as an airfield during two World Wars. Now the National Museum of Flight hangars are packed with aircraft that reveal how flight developed from the Wright brothers to Concorde. There's so much to see and do at the National Museum of Flight! Work your way through the four Hangars, each telling the story of aviation, from military and civil to Concorde. Outside the hangars, you can see the Comet, Vulcan and BAC1-11. They have also got a 'Green Goddess' fire-engine and Matador 4x4 truck on permanent display and make sure you visit the Radar Room - full of vintage avionics equipment!
The Annual Airshow Over 10,500 visitors flocked to the National Museum of Flight at East Fortune on Saturday 25 July this year for the attraction's annual Airshow. On the ground, a host of activities were enjoyed ranging from a unique 'Meet the Pilot' session with former Concorde Captain, Andy Baillie, to falconry, mountain biking and archery displays.
